Cross-Country

Today we crown the winner of the women's pursuit, a 15km event that, starting in Torino, has been turned into a combined competition.  The first half is raced in the classical technique and the second is carried out in the freestyle technique.  The American women have never won a medal in cross-country skiing and the streak should not be broken today.  The U.S. will be represented in the pursuit by Liz Stephen and Morgan Arritola. The 23-year-olds are  each making their Olympic debut in Vancouver.
