In figure skating, today's original dance, marks the second of three events in ice dancing. Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto won silver in Torino and are contenders for gold. Meryl Davis and Charlie White have had a phenomenal season and edged out Belbin and Agosto for the national championship in January. They also are gold medal contenders. Davis and White currently sit in third place and Belbin and Agosto follow in fourth. Evan Bates and partner Emily Samuelson made their first Olympic team with a third-place finish at the 2010 U.S. Nationals. The silver medal won by Belbin and Agosto was the first for the United States in ice dancing.
