The snowboarding events at the Vancouver Games will be contested at Cypress Mountain, located approximately 20 miles (30 minutes by car) outside the city, near the District of West Vancouver. The spectator capacity for snowboarding events at the Cypress Mountain venue is 12,000 for snowboard cross and parallel giant slalom, and 8,000 for the halfpipe events.
In addition to hosting snowboarding, Cypress Mountain is also hosting the freestyle skiing events at the 2010 Games. The finish area for snowboard cross and parallel giant slalom is the same finish area that will be used for the freestyle ski cross event.
