WHISTLER (Reuters) - Swiss gold medallist ski jumper Simon Ammann shrugged off poor wind conditions to unleash a massive leap and take a comfortable lead after the first jump in Saturday's large hill competition.
Ammann, seeking to win a record four individual titles, recorded a huge leap of 144 meters for a total of 144.7 points. He easily won the normal hill gold medal last week.
