Nordic Combined team's last-minute practice

Members of the U.S. Nordic Combined team were practicing their jumps at the Olympic Park in Park City when KSL News caught up with them.

PARK CITY -- Many of the U.S. Olympic teams based in Utah put in a good hard practice this week. U.S. Nordic Combined team members were practicing their jumps Tuesday at the Olympic Park in Park City when KSL News caught up with them.

Jumping is just one part of their sport; they also compete in cross country skiing.

"The conditions are perfect, best place to do a training camp. With our whole team, we're just pushing ourselves getting ready to head up," said Brett Camerota, a team member from Utah.

The entire team was there, as well as staff, taking care of any last-minute details before they head to Canada. The coach said the team is strong this year and is looking forward to competing.

"The venue in Whistler is awesome. The jumps are great, the cross country ski area is awesome," Coach Dave Jarrett said. "We've been up there the last two springs. These guys love the hills and love the course, and the scenery is beautiful."

The freestyle team wrapped up its practice Tuesday afternoon. On Thursday, the Alpine skiers have invited KSL News to practice, so we'll be there for that too.
