Finland is located in northern Europe, bordered by Norway to the north, Sweden to the west and Russia to the east. President Tanja Halonen is the first female to occupy the office of the President in Finland.

Finland: Olympic Tradition

Finland is sixth on the all-time medals list with 151 (41 gold, 58 silver, 52 bronze). It has participated in every Winter Games. Seventy-one of Finland's 151 medals have come in cross-country skiing.

Finland: Vancouver Outlook

Finland's best Olympic results have historically come in the Nordic events: cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and Nordic combined. That should hold true in Vancouver.
