Located in eastern Africa, Ethiopia is Sub-Saharan Africa's oldest state. It is bordered to the north by Eritrea, to the west by Sudan, to the south by Kenya and Somalia, and to the east by Somalia and Djibouti. It can trace 2,000 years of recorded history. A series of droughts since 1972 have led to the creation of many world-wide relief efforts.
