Located in northern Africa, Algeria is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean Sea, to the west by Morocco, Western Sahara, to the south by Mali, Mauritania, and Niger, and to the east by Libya and Tunisia. It is the second-largest country in Africa after Sudan.
Olympic Tradition: Vancouver will be Algeria's third Olympic Winter Games following appearances in Albertville 1992 and Torino 2006.
Vancouver Outlook: Algeria is not expected to contend for a medal in Vancouver.
