Beijing recap
77 nations took part in the boxing competition at the 2008 Games. Cuba won the medal count, with eight medals (four silver, four bronze) but, for the first time in a non-boycotted Games since 1968, did not win a single gold medal.

Nine nations shared the gold medals in the eleven weight classes. China and Russia were the only nations to win two gold medals.

The all-time leader in boxing medals at the Olympics, the U.S. posted its worst-ever record at a non-boycotted Games. Only one boxer, heavyweight Deontay Wilder, won a medal, sharing the bronze medal with Cuba's Osmay Acosta.
