Los Angeles Kings goaltender is making his Olympic debut in Vancouver... Playing in his second NHL season, Quick began the 2008-09 season in the AHL but was called up when Kings No. 1 Erik Ersberg was injured in December 2008... Quick played 44 games, posting 21 wins and a 2.48 goals against average, earning the starting job in the process.... Already this season, Quick has posted a career-high in wins, as the surprising Kings contend for a playoff berth... As the third goaltender on the depth chart for the U.S., Quick will serve as a backup in Vancouver.

As the pilot for the USA-1 bobsled, I broke a 62-year gold medal drought when my sled, the 'Night Train" won the Olympic title at the 2010 Vancouver Games. A degenerative eye condition nearly caused me to quit my sport in 2008, but corrective surgery restored my vision to 20-20.
