Toronto Maple Leafs forward is making his Olympic debut in Vancouver... Representing the U.S. at three World Championships (2006, 2007, 2008) and two World Junior Championships (2005, 2006). In Vancouver, Kessel will be playing under U.S. head coach Ron Wilson and GM Brian Burke, both of whom hold the same positions with the Toronto Maple Leafs... A product of the U.S. National Team Development Program, Kessel was drafted fifth overall in the 2006 NHL Draft, by the Boston Bruins... Played three season in Boston and was traded to Toronto early in the 2009-10 season... Despite missing 12 games in 2008-09, Kessel scored a career-high 36 goals and 60 points, and was plus-23 for the season.

As the pilot for the USA-1 bobsled, I broke a 62-year gold medal drought when my sled, the 'Night Train" won the Olympic title at the 2010 Vancouver Games. A degenerative eye condition nearly caused me to quit my sport in 2008, but corrective surgery restored my vision to 20-20.
