A four-time member of the U.S. team at the World Championship, Thomas is making his Olympic debut in Vancouver... After a standout career at the University of Vermont, the late-blooming Thomas spent eight seasons playing at various levels of professional hockey in the U.S. and overseas - before sticking in the NHL for good after the lockout... After a Vezina award-winning season in 2008-09, Thomas was the lone member of the U.S. team present when the roster was announced at Fenway Park after the Winter Classic game between the Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers.

As the pilot for the USA-1 bobsled, I broke a 62-year gold medal drought when my sled, the 'Night Train" won the Olympic title at the 2010 Vancouver Games. A degenerative eye condition nearly caused me to quit my sport in 2008, but corrective surgery restored my vision to 20-20.
