In 2002, Shannon Bahrke won silver in women's moguls, becoming the first American medalist of the Salt Lake Games... Subsequent seasons have been interrupted by injuries, but she has made the most of time off, co-founding a coffee company with her fiancé... The energetic veteran hails from Tahoe City, Calif., and her younger brother, Scott, is an aerialist on the U.S. national team.

As the pilot for the USA-1 bobsled, I broke a 62-year gold medal drought when my sled, the 'Night Train" won the Olympic title at the 2010 Vancouver Games. A degenerative eye condition nearly caused me to quit my sport in 2008, but corrective surgery restored my vision to 20-20.
