Curls out of the Bemidji curling club, the same club that produced 2006 Olympians Pete Fenson and Cassie Johnson....When her friends at the rink gathered to watch the Torino Games, she declined, saying that it was too hard to watch...Played on the rink that finished third at the 2006 Olympic Trials, but had expected to do much better...Half American Indian...Works as a nurse on a reservation in Red Lake, Minnesota.

As the pilot for the USA-1 bobsled, I broke a 62-year gold medal drought when my sled, the 'Night Train" won the Olympic title at the 2010 Vancouver Games. A degenerative eye condition nearly caused me to quit my sport in 2008, but corrective surgery restored my vision to 20-20.
