Won three Olympic medals in 2006: gold in the 5000m, silver in the 10,000m and bronze in the 1500m... After Torino, took eight months off from skating before returning to pursue another Olympics... Got married in 2008 and had a baby girl in 2009... Switched to speed skating from inline after watching friend Derek Parra at the 2002 Games.

As the pilot for the USA-1 bobsled, I broke a 62-year gold medal drought when my sled, the 'Night Train" won the Olympic title at the 2010 Vancouver Games. A degenerative eye condition nearly caused me to quit my sport in 2008, but corrective surgery restored my vision to 20-20.
