    Boasting a "Best in the World" slogan, the U.S. Ski Team left Torino with a total of two Alpine medals. This time, their eight medals represent the highest total for a U.S. team at any Olympics and are twice as many as any other country's total.

    Much of the talk before the Alpine events kicked off at Whistler Creekside revolved around Lindsey Vonn. While the American star got her long-awaited gold, it was the German team that came away as the biggest winners at the Vancouver Games.
